Although The Salvation Army has been serving Champaign County since 1889, for more than 60 of those 134 years we have been sharing a week-long celebration of heritage, history, achievements and future goals with our communities, known as National Salvation Army Week. Here are some suggestions as to how you can celebrate with us: WEDNESDAY, MAY 17TH AT NOON: You are welcome to join us as our guest for lunch on the 17th at noon as we host the CU Lion's Club's luncheon at The Red Shield Center, 2212 N. Market Street. This will allow you to take a tour, learn more about The Salvation Army, and our local Lion's Club organization. These two organizations do a lot for the community and, as partners, we invite you to join us! Cost: $10 donation To Learn more about The Lions, visit: http://www.champaignlions.org/ THURSDAY, MAY 18TH AT 4:30PM-6:30PM BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS: You are invited to be our guest as we host the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Business After-Hours at The Red Shield Center, 2212 N. Market Street. This will allow you to learn more about The Salvation Army programs, services, volunteer opportunities, and more, as well as network with local businesses in our community. If you are a local professional in Champaign County, we invite you to join us! Make sure to bring your business cards for the door prize drawing. Cost: $10 for non-members If you would like to bring any canned goods for donation to the Salvation Army's food pantry, they would greatly appreciate it.
