Description

Special Notes:

  • The Chamber is complying with the state mandate and asks that members follow the CDC Guidelines/State Mandate at Chamber functions. Please remember that people will have differing levels of comfort as we return to in-person events. Handshaking and standing in close proximity may still make people uneasy.
  • So, we ask that all participants be respectful of this. Bring your best fist bump, reconnect and enjoy.
  • Due to an abundance of caution only 15 attendees are able to attend this event.

Fall Seminar Series Includes:
  1. Sept: Professionalism in the Work Place, A Refresher
  2. Oct: Increasing Your Businesses Online Reach with a Digital Audit
  3. Nov: Employee Handbooks; Get All Your Employees on the Same Page
  4. Dec:  It Only Takes One Page To Start The Year Off Right; The One Page Business Plan

November Seminar Summary:
Imagine that gut-sinking feeling when you learn that an ex-employee is suing you for wrongful termination. The argument is that the employee didn't know he was breaking the rules. Why? Because you didn't have an employee handbook to tell him the rules.

Why is it essential for employers to have an employee handbook and what needs to be in it? Register for this seminar to help create your first-ever manual or ensure your current one is up-to-date.

This seminar will discuss both the practical and legal need for complete and up-to-date employee handbooks. Participants will also learn the common pitfalls and mistakes that employers often make in drafting, implementing and failing to update employee handbooks.
