Starting a Small Business Workshop, presented by Roger Read
This workshop is the first in a series that covers must-have topics with real-life examples and cases. First-time entrepreneurs and those growing their small businesses all benefit from the straight talk and friendly mentoring from our experienced, business professionals. Business Advisor Council (BAC) workshops and resources help minimize risk by sharing the vital, need-to-know truths of running a business.

About the presenter:
Roger is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in Agriculture Economics. He is a U.S Army Veteran. Roger retired in 2011 after a 43 year career with Growmark, Inc., an international agriculture and grain marketing cooperative. His career included working in the Midwest, the Northeast and Canada. Roger’s experience involved marketing, market develop, special projects, logistics and serving as general manager of five Growmark Cooperatives.
He is a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors, a member of an Early Response Team, responding to the aftermath of natural disasters within a five Midwestern state area and has served as an unpaid consultant with USAID Programs in Moldova, a Republic of Georgia and South Africa. Roger is a volunteer with ECI SCORE, he is an instructor for the workshops and a counselor.
