SUMMARY:Business Success Seminar: Professionalism in the Work Place\, Couldn't We All Use A Refresher?
DESCRIPTION:Special Notes:\n\n	The Chamber is complying with the state mandate and asks that members follow the CDC Guidelines/State Mandate at Chamber functions. Please remember that people will have differing levels of comfort as we return to in-person events. Handshaking and standing in close proximity may still make people uneasy. \n	So\, we ask that all participants be respectful of this. Bring your best fist bump\, reconnect and enjoy.\n	Due to an abundance of caution only 15 attendees are able to attend this event. \n\nFall Seminar Series\n\nRegister for all four seminars this fall and save! \n\n\n\nFall Seminar Series Includes: \n\n\n	Sept: Professionalism in the Work Place\, A Refresher\n	Oct: Increasing Your Businesses Online Reach with a Digital Audit\n	Nov: Employee Handbooks\; Get All Your Employees on the Same Page\n	Dec: It Only Takes One Page To Start The Year Off Right\; The One Page Business Plan\n\n\n\nSeptember Seminar Summary:\n\nAre you clipping your toenails at your desk? Fish in the microwave at lunch? You're done with your morning joe\, so you leave the coffee pot empty. The awkward moment when you realize no one filled the toilet paper roll? \n\n \n\nYeah\, these are extreme. But let's face it\, after working remotely for this past year\, many of us have undoubtedly developed new habits that are unacceptable in the office. Humorous real-world examples will teach us how to use good etiquette and respect for others and ourselves. Participants will learn how to make a positive and professional first impression and use appropriate communication skills to convey courtesy and respect for teammates. \n\n\n\nTopics Covered:\n\n\n	What it means to 'be professional'\n	Making a positive and professional impression\n	How communication is a vital part of your image\n\nTake-Aways:\n\n\n	Implement\; Etiquette that makes others you remember by your work\, not your faux pas.\n	Explain\; the rules of written and oral business communication.\n	Identify\; How to make a positive and professional impression.\n	Recognize\; How professional etiquette can significantly improve your career.\n\nExperience Level: Intro\n\n\n\nPresenter: Patricia Simpson\n\nPatricia is Owner/Consultant of Game Changing Etiquette and the Director of Academic Advising and Career Services for the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Illinois\, Urbana-Champaign.
