SUMMARY:Business Success Seminar: It only takes One Page to Start The Year Off Right: The One-Page Business Plan
DESCRIPTION:Special Notes:\n\n	The Chamber is complying with the state mandate and asks that members follow the CDC Guidelines/State Mandate at Chamber functions. Please remember that people will have differing levels of comfort as we return to in-person events. Handshaking and standing in close proximity may still make people uneasy. \n	So\, we ask that all participants be respectful of this. Bring your best fist bump\, reconnect and enjoy.\n	Due to an abundance of caution only 15 attendees are able to attend this event. \n\nFall Seminar Series\n\nRegister for all four seminars this fall and save! \n\n\n\nFall Seminar Series Includes: \n\n\n	Sept: Professionalism in the Work Place\, A Refresher\n	Oct: Increasing Your Businesses Online Reach with a Digital Audit\n	Nov: Employee Handbooks\; Get All Your Employees on the Same Page\n	Dec: It Only Takes One Page To Start The Year Off Right\; The One Page Business Plan\n\n\n\nDecember Seminar Summary:\n\nWe took a vote. The most over-used word of 2020 is pivot. We are ready to retire the term. However\, 2020 taught business leaders that companies could be reinvented in a matter of hours\, days or the course of a week. \n\n \n\nMost business leaders haven't looked at their business plans in years. Some business leaders do not even have one because let's face it\; it is a time-consuming process. We are not saying\, "don't do a traditional business plan." We are saying that much has happened recently and you should enter 2022 with a vision for your company. But let's get that on paper. \n\n \n\nCapture your future on one page. Let it be your guide to success in 2022.\n\n\n\nExperience Level: Intro-Intermediate\n\n\n\nPresenter: Jeff Kurtz\n\nAfter a decade in running small banks Jeff obtained a Master's in Business Administration and transitioned to teaching business classes at the University Of Illinois. To date his teaching career spans in well over two decades. During that time he has held numerous Director level positions and served on multiple advisory boards. \n\n \n\nSome of the current courses Jeff teaches include\; business fundamentals\, small business consulting\, business in action and technology commercialization. Jeff also conducts research that predominately focuses on Intergenerational ownership transitions in family-owned and closely-held businesses.\n\n\n\nJeff holds B.S. from Illinois State University and a M.B.A. from the University of Illinois.
